A New Boiler, Fitted Right

Since building regulations changed under Part L, every new gas boiler installed in England and Wales has to be a high-efficiency condensing boiler, typically A-rated, 90%+ efficient. A condensing boiler recovers heat from the exhaust gases that an older boiler would simply lose up the flue, using it to pre-warm the water returning to the system. Where necessary, we'll also update your heating controls to match: thermostatic radiator valves, a programmable thermostat, and an automatic bypass valve where the system calls for one. After the work, your installer notifies the local authority (we handle this for you) and you receive a Benchmark commissioning certificate confirming the installation meets current regulations, worth keeping safe, as it's the kind of paperwork buyers ask for when you come to sell.

What a typical installation costs

Oil boiler installations tend to sit slightly higher due to tank and pipework considerations. A more involved job (moving the boiler's location, converting from one boiler type to another, or adding a full set of new controls) costs more, and we'll always give you a fixed price before any work starts, not an estimate that grows once we're in.

Timeline: what to expect

• Survey and quote: we look at your existing system, hot water demand and access before quoting, usually within a few days of your call.
• Installation day(s): a like-for-like replacement is typically done in a single day; a more complex job (different boiler type, relocated flue, new pipework) can run to two days.
• Commissioning & handover: we commission the boiler to Benchmark standard, show you how the controls work, and leave you with your paperwork and guarantee documents.
