Who we are

This website is operated by FlameFix Ltd ("FlameFix", "we", "us"), registered in England & Wales, of Charlton House, 32 High Street, Cullompton, Devon EX15 1AE. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, call us on 07883 037667 or write to us at the address above.

Data you give us directly

We don't run a contact form on this site — the fastest way to reach us is by phone. When you call us, we may note down your name, phone number, address and details about the job so we can quote for it or book you in. This is the same information we'd take over the phone regardless of how you found us, and we use it only to provide the service you've asked for.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit this site, which pages they look at, and how they found us. This helps us keep the site useful and fix things that aren't working. Google Analytics sets cookies (small files stored in your browser, typically named things like _ga and _ga_*) that collect information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. This data is pseudonymous — it's tied to a randomly generated ID in your browser, not your name.

These cookies are not set until you accept them in the cookie banner shown when you first visit the site. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer — this lets you switch analytics on or off, and your choice is remembered for future visits. If you reject analytics cookies, no Google Analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google from your visit.

Some cookies are strictly necessary — for example, one that remembers your cookie preference itself. These aren't optional, as the site can't function sensibly without them, and they don't require consent.

Who we share data with

Where you've accepted analytics cookies, visit data is processed by Google Ireland Limited (and its parent, Google LLC, in the US) as part of providing the Google Analytics service. Google may process this data outside the UK; where it does, it relies on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard recognised under UK data protection law. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else for marketing purposes.

How long we keep data

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months from collection, after which it's automatically deleted. Details you give us by phone for a quote or job are kept for as long as we need them to carry out the work and meet our accounting and legal obligations, typically no more than 7 years.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your data, where we don't have a good reason to keep it;
  • object to how we use your data, or ask us to restrict it;
  • withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time, with no effect on service; and
  • complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we've got something wrong.

To exercise any of these rights, call us on 07883 037667 or write to us at Charlton House, 32 High Street, Cullompton, Devon EX15 1AE.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
